Detailed notes

## Background Published on YouTube by board-certified dermatologist Dr Dray on October 6, 2026, this guide highlights top skincare and hair care deals during Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2026. The video description details dermatologist-vetted recommendations spanning moisturizers, acne treatments, Korean beauty products, sunscreens, and hair growth devices, breaking down key ingredients before viewers make a purchase.

## TL;DR Dr. Dray evaluates standout beauty and hair care sales for Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, prioritizing clinically supported formulations over marketing hype. Her recommendations cover barrier-repair essentials like Aveeno Eczema Therapy Balm, stable anti-aging options including Differin Gel and Neutrogena Collagen Bank SPF 30, and gentle hydrators like Round Lab Dokdo Toner. She also provides practical dermatologist workarounds—such as using fragrance-free Thiamidol eye cream across pigmented facial zones—and candidly outlines medical criteria and realistic expectations for the iRESTORE Elite hair laser device.

## Atmosphere & style The video maintains Dr. Dray's signature no-nonsense, pragmatic tone, seamlessly blending scientific critique with approachable consumer advice. Her delivery is refreshingly unfiltered as she dismisses gimmicky hardware like built-in gua sha rollers and vibrating beauty gadgets, yet warmly enthusiastic when highlighting accessible drugstore staples. The viewer experience feels like receiving honest, evidence-based shopping counsel from an expert friend who prioritizes barrier health and cost-effectiveness over aesthetic industry trends.

## Detailed walkthrough ### [00:00](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=0s) Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2026 Overview

Dr. Dray kicks off the video with seasonal excitement, welcoming viewers to October's Amazon Prime Big Deal Days. The 48-hour savings event runs from October 6th through October 7th, 2026, featuring major markdowns across skincare, beauty, and hair care. As usual, Dr. Dray uses the sale to spotlight top-tier products she routinely recommends to patients and viewers, as well as staples she personally purchases and keeps in her own routine.

[00:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=30s) Aveeno Eczema Therapy Nighttime Itch Relief Balm

Leading off her recommendations is the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Nighttime Itch Relief Balm, an over-the-counter colloidal oatmeal skin protectant. Dr. Dray explains that unlike standard occlusives such as petroleum jelly or pure humectants like glycerin, colloidal oatmeal brings several distinct physiological advantages to a compromised skin barrier. It substantially curbs transepidermal water loss (TEWL) to accelerate barrier repair, supplies humectants to actively boost moisture retention, and delivers potent avenanthramides—the bioactive components in oats that soothe active inflammation.

Equally crucial is colloidal oatmeal's proven anti-itch capability. Impaired skin barriers and eczema flare-ups trigger a painful constellation of burning, stinging, erythema, flaking, and severe pruritus. Itching prompts scratching, which directly tears at the stratum corneum and amplifies inflammation in a destructive loop. Dr. Dray emphasizes that this formulation is exceptionally thick, rich, and low in free water, making it far less prone to stinging or burning upon application to raw, reactive skin.

```mermaid flowchart TD accTitle: Colloidal Oatmeal Mechanism of Action accDescr: How colloidal oatmeal breaks the itch-scratch cycle and supports skin barrier recovery. subgraph BarrierCycle["The Barrier Breakdown Cycle"] A["Impaired Skin Barrier"] --> B["Inflammation & Itch"] B --> C["Scratching Response"] C -->|"Worsens damage"| A end
subgraph OatAction["Colloidal Oat Intervention"] D["Avenanthramides"] -->|"Calms"| B E["Anti-Itch Action"] -->|"Interrupts"| C F["Humectants & Lipids"] -->|"Reduces TEWL"| A end ```
- **Active Protectant**: Colloidal oatmeal - **Key Bioactives**: Avenanthramides (anti-inflammatory oat polyphenols) - **Primary Benefits**: Reduces transepidermal water loss, provides humectant hydration, calms neurosensory itch, and avoids the stinging associated with high-water lotions
[01:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=111s) BIODANCE Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask
Dr. Dray moves to an experiential pick: the BIODANCE Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask. While she notes that sheet masks demand a notable time investment and are not part of her everyday regimen, this specific formula delivers significant return on investment. Unlike standard sheet masks, it applies as a thick, hydrating jelly saturated with soothing fluid and gradually cures over several hours of air exposure into a transparent, closely adherent film.
Despite initial skepticism that an occlusive overnight film might cause irritation or heat retention, Dr. Dray found it lightweight, breathable, and capable of staying firmly in place through the night—even in hot, humid climates. Formulated with bifida ferment filtrate, collagen extract, and niacinamide to calm redness and reinforce the barrier, it leaves the complexion visibly plumped, hydrated, and calm by morning. However, she flags two considerations: it contains rose water (which can trigger reactions in those with fragrance sensitivities), and because it takes time to dry down, it must be planned into an evening routine. She considers it ideal prep the night before major photography or public events when someone wants their skin to look as if they "just got some expensive facial."
- **Texture/Wear**: Applies as a hydrating jelly and cures into an adherent, breathable film overnight - **Key Ingredients**: Bifida ferment filtrate, collagen extract, niacinamide, rose water - **Caveats**: Requires dry-down time before bed; rose water may cross-react with fragrance allergies - **Best Use Case**: Event-prep hydration for a calmed, plumped appearance
[04:05](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=245s) Differin Gel (Adapalene 0.1%)
Differin Gel (adapalene) is highlighted as an underappreciated powerhouse. While formally FDA-approved as an over-the-counter drug for acne vulgaris, adapalene shares the proven regenerative pedigree of prescription retinoids like tretinoin and tazarotene: robust scientific evidence demonstrates that it stimulates collagen synthesis, softens fine lines, and reverses visible photoaging, including lentigines on the hands.
Dr. Dray argues that adapalene offers a distinct advantage over cosmetic retinol or retinaldehyde serums. With cosmetic retinoids, consumers are entirely "at the mercy of the brand" regarding whether the molecule is stably formulated or blended with additives that may cause intolerances (such as unwanted niacinamide). Adapalene, by contrast, is a standardized drug product: "what you see is what you get." Among topical medical retinoids, it remains the most well-tolerated and least prone to peeling or irritation. While Dr. Dray started her own retinoid journey with Differin years ago with stellar results, she notes that neither adapalene nor prescription retinoids are tolerated on her neck or chest, necessitating gentle cosmetic alternatives for those delicate zones.
- **Regulatory Class**: FDA-approved topical retinoid drug (0.1% adapalene) - **Primary Uses**: Acne treatment, off-label photoaging reversal, wrinkle smoothing, age spot fading - **Formulation Advantage**: Rigorously standardized, chemically stable, free of extraneous cosmetic additives, and the most tolerable active pharmaceutical retinoid
[05:51](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=351s) ANUA Collagen Retinol Refining Gua Sha Cream
Addressing neck care, Dr. Dray discusses the ANUA Collagen Retinol Refining Gua Sha Cream. She immediately addresses the built-in applicator, telling viewers to outright "ignore the gua sha thing" because brands simply use such gimmicks to stand apart. While light massage can temporarily reduce lymphatic puffiness, she stresses that no gua sha tool will "sculpt your face or change the trajectory of the downward descent with facial aging."
Setting the hardware aside, Dr. Dray praises the cream's formulation for areas where prescription retinoids are too harsh. Designed to treat the delicate skin of the neck, it pairs retinol with barrier-supportive niacinamide, hydrating collagen, panthenol, nourishing macadamia seed oil, and adenosine. The texture and gentle performance remind her of the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Fragrance-Free cream, earning it a spot among her top-recommended cosmetic retinoids of 2026.
- **Key Actives**: Retinol, niacinamide, adenosine - **Conditioning Agents**: Hydrolyzed collagen, panthenol, macadamia seed oil - **Packaging Reality**: The roller/gua sha head is a marketing gimmick; the value lies entirely in the nourishing, low-irritation retinoid cream
[07:07](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=427s) Anua Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum
Another standout from Anua is their Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum, featuring 10% azelaic acid combined with niacinamide. Dr. Dray clarifies the distinction between cosmetic 10% formulas and prescription-strength 15% or 20% medications (such as Finacea). Cosmetic 10% products are legally categorized to improve skin tone, calm transient redness, and soothe texture; they cannot claim to cure rosacea or acne because they lack FDA drug approval and formal disease-endpoint clinical trials.
She cautions that consumers managing diagnosed skin diseases should not swap prescribed therapies for cosmetic 10% alternatives. However, for individuals seeking non-prescription cosmetic improvement for redness and uneven tone without visiting a clinic, this serum provides an accessible, hydrating, and well-buffered entry point into azelaic acid.
- **Concentration**: 10% azelaic acid - **Complementary Ingredients**: Hyaluronic acid, niacinamide - **Clinical Distinction**: 10% is a cosmetic brightening and soothing agent; 15% to 20% are regulated prescription strengths for inflammatory dermatoses
[08:24](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=504s) Eucerin Radiant Tone Dual Serum & Thiamidol
Turning to stubborn hyperpigmentation, Dr. Dray covers Thiamidol (isobutylamido thiazolyl resorcinol), an exclusive resorcinol derivative developed and patented by Beiersdorf. As a targeted tyrosinase inhibitor, Thiamidol demonstrates impressive efficacy in clinical literature for fading recalcitrant dark spots and melasma.
The compound is featured in the Eucerin Radiant Tone Dual Serum Dark Spot Corrector, which is heavily discounted for Prime Big Deal Days. While she recognizes its clinical potency, Dr. Dray reveals she does not personally use this dual serum because of its overpowering fragrance. For shoppers who share her sensitivity to perfumed skincare, she shares a practical dermatologist workaround: purchase the Eucerin Radiant Tone Eye Cream instead. The eye formulation contains Thiamidol, is completely fragrance-free, and works effectively as a spot corrector across pigmented facial areas since only small amounts are needed.
- **Hero Ingredient**: Thiamidol (Beiersdorf's proprietary tyrosinase-inhibiting resorcinol derivative) - **Target**: Solar lentigines, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and uneven tone - **Fragrance Workaround**: Those averse to the serum's strong perfume can use the fragrance-free Eucerin Radiant Tone Eye Cream as an all-over spot treatment
[09:36](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=576s) Tangle Teezer Hairbrush
Dr. Dray closes this portion of her haul with the Tangle Teezer hairbrush. Unlike consumable skincare products that require periodic repurchasing, this is an Amazon purchase she made once and has never needed to replace. She highlights its durable plastic bristle architecture, which resists accumulating trapped fuzz and lint and is effortless to wash. For her specific hair profile—fine individual strands, but high overall density—it detangles smoothly without pulling or snapping the hair shaft.
[09:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=582s) Tangle Teezer Brush & Neutrogena Collagen Bank SPF 30 Moisturizer
Wrapping up her thoughts on the Tangle Teezer brush, Dr. Dray emphasizes that it gives her zero issues or frizz; she adores it, highly recommends it, and relies on it for effortless detangling. Moving back to skincare, she highlights that Neutrogena frequently puts an array of products on sale during Prime events. She points viewers to one of her all-time favorites, discovered a couple of years ago: the Neutrogena Collagen Bank SPF 30 Moisturizer. Acknowledging popular skepticism, she notes that while collagen peptides in topical formulas do not magically replace structural collagen, they serve as excellent moisturizers. However, this specific formulation incorporates a patented micropeptide supported by industry-led human clinical trials rather than mere speculation on petri-dish cell cultures. The human data demonstrated objective reductions not only in wrinkles, but remarkably in skin sagging as well. While the biological mechanism behind the sagging reduction is difficult to pinpoint, the published trial photographs are visually compelling.
Beyond its anti-aging data, Dr. Dray loves the daily cosmetic elegance of the formula: it leaves no white cast, wears comfortably, causes no burning or stinging around the sensitive eye area, and enhances the overall look of the skin. She also uses this product to share an essential insider tip: for individuals who are sensitive to niacinamide and desperately searching for niacinamide-free options, Neutrogena is the ideal brand to browse, as nine times out of ten their formulations omit the ingredient entirely.
- **Neutrogena Collagen Bank SPF 30**: Backed by clinical human trials demonstrating reductions in visible wrinkles and skin sagging; leaves zero white cast and does not irritate or sting around the eyes. - **Niacinamide-Free Safe Haven**: Recommended as a reliable brand for niacinamide-intolerant skin, as most Neutrogena moisturizers exclude it.
[11:16](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=676s) Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner
For consumers wanting extra hydration support and skin calming, Dr. Dray recommends incorporating a water-based toner as the very first step immediately after cleansing. While she clarifies that a toner is by no means an obligatory step in every skincare routine, she favors liquid toners because they prep the skin for evening moisturizers or targeted serums. Water-based toners excel when formulated with anti-inflammatory, soothing actives, leaving the skin noticeably happier, particularly when someone is battling acute irritation and dryness.
She highlights Korean beauty for mastering gentle, hydrating liquid toners, specifically praising the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner. While it may look simple on the surface, the standout feature is its proprietary Hatching EX-07 technology. This gentle enzyme technology is designed to soften and loosen compacted, dead stratum corneum cells on the surface of the skin without forcefully dissolving intercellular bonds in the way harsh chemical exfoliants can. This makes it an ideal, non-irritating smoothing option for highly sensitive skin barriers. In addition, the formula delivers soothing hydration, protective antioxidants, and polysaccharides derived from red algae extract.
```mermaid flowchart LR accTitle: Mechanism of Hatching EX-07 in Round Lab Dokdo Toner accDescr: Diagram illustrating how the Hatching EX-07 enzyme softly lifts dead skin cells compared to harsh chemical exfoliants.

- **Hatching EX-07 Technology**: Non-abrasive, enzyme-based surface smoothing that avoids compromising sensitized barriers. - **Key Ingredients**: Red algae extract (polysaccharides and antioxidants) alongside skin-calming hydrators.

[12:42](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=762s) iRESTORE Elite Hair Restoration Device

Dr. Dray addresses the iRESTORE Elite, a one-and-done home purchase that she does not need to repurchase because the unit lasts. It is an at-home, high-output LED helmet designed for hair restoration through photobiomodulation (low-level laser light therapy or LLLT). Acknowledging natural skepticism toward high-tech beauty gadgets—calling out the endless flood of "farty devices" and "gyrating stuff" on the market, 99% of which she never recommends—she insists that this particular modality is backed by legitimate clinical science. Evidence continues to emerge supporting LLLT not just for classic androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss), but also for speeding up recovery in telogen effluvium and serving as an adjunct in scarring conditions like frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA).

The mechanism works in three distinct ways: it dampens underlying scalp inflammation, revitalizes the cellular metabolism of dormant, miniaturized hair follicles to push them back into the active anagen growing phase, and enhances microcirculation to optimize delivery of micronutrients and growth factors. However, Dr. Dray stresses crucial caveats:

```mermaid flowchart TD accTitle: Assessment Guide for Laser Hair Restoration accDescr: Flowchart detailing the prerequisite steps and mechanisms for using LLLT devices like iRESTORE.
subgraph Assessment["1. Diagnosis & Suitability"] D1["Obtain Clear Medical Diagnosis"] --> D2{"Type of Hair Loss?"} D2 -->|"Androgenetic Alopecia / Early TE"| Cand["Good Candidate (Mild to Moderate)"] D2 -->|"Severe / Longstanding Balding"| NonCand["Unlikely to Move the Dial"] end
subgraph DeviceAction["2. Photobiomodulation Action"] Cand --> M1["Reduces Scalp Inflammation"] Cand --> M2["Boosts Follicular Metabolism & Reverses Miniaturization"] Cand --> M3["Improves Microcirculation & Nutrient Flow"] end
subgraph Commitment["3. Protocol Requirements"] M1 & M2 & M3 --> R1["12 Minutes Daily (Hands-Free)"] R1 --> R2["Lifelong Consistency Required to Maintain Gains"] end ```
- **Accurate Diagnosis is Mandatory**: Most consumers simply diagnose themselves with generic "hair loss" without understanding the underlying medical cause. Several forms of alopecia will not respond to laser therapy at all, meaning buyers should never invest in an expensive unit without an accurate physician diagnosis. - **Realistic Stage Expectations**: It produces optimal results in mild-to-moderate early-stage hair thinning; it cannot regrow a full head of hair in cases of widespread, advanced balding. - **Multimodal Compatibility**: Can be implemented as a standalone treatment or combined alongside conventional therapies like minoxidil. - **Strict Compliance Requirement**: Photobiomodulation is a chronic management tool, not a permanent cure. If treatment stops, results disappear. Because the iRESTORE Elite requires just 12 minutes a day and runs completely hands-free, it easily fits into daily habits—yet it remains a substantial financial investment that should never be purchased if one lacks the discipline to use it consistently.
[15:30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heniIjy7aqA&t=930s) Garnier Fructis Hair Care Favorites & Outro
Closing out her hair care round-up, Dr. Dray reveals a long-term "holy grail" pairing she has purchased over and over again: the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. Alongside the core wash routine, she recommends checking out the Garnier Fructis Diamond Sleek leave-in styling treatment if it is discounted during the sale, noting it is an ultra-affordable staple that normally runs under $8 anyway.
She recommends Diamond Sleek specifically for anyone with longer hair who routinely heat styles using a blow-dryer or flat iron, especially those living in high-humidity climates plagued by stubborn frizz. The product is heat-activated to lock out humidity, tame flyaways, and provide high shine and silky manageability. However, she offers a clear warning: anyone who air-dries their hair without heat tools should skip it entirely, as heat activation is required to unlock the formula's smoothing benefits.
Wrapping up the guide, Dr. Dray signs off with her customary channel reminders: encouragement to like and share the video, an invitation to discuss favorite picks in the comments, and her signature closing mantra: "don't forget sunscreen and subscribe."
Reading summary
Reviewing the 2026 Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, Dr. Dray recommends prioritizing standardized, evidence-based skincare formulations and clinical data over marketing novelties. She distinguishes between regulated treatments and cosmetic alternatives while highlighting practical workarounds for ingredient sensitivities like fragrance and niacinamide. Regulated Retinoids and Cosmetic Actives (4:05) Dr. Dray highlights Differin Gel (0.1% adapalene) as an advantageous alternative to cosmetic retinol or retinaldehyde serums. Because it is an FDA-approved drug, it offers chemical stability and rigorous standardization without unpredictable cosmetic additives or unwanted niacinamide. While formally indicated for acne vulgaris, adapalene possesses clinical evidence demonstrating collagen stimulation and photoaging reversal, serving as the most tolerable pharmaceutical retinoid available over the counter. For areas where prescription-strength retinoids cause irritation, such as the neck, she suggests gentle cosmetic alternatives like the ANUA Collagen Retinol Refining Cream. However, she explicitly advises consumers to ignore its built-in gua sha head, dismissing facial sculpting applicators as marketing gimmicks that cannot alter facial aging. She applies a similar distinction to Anua's 10% azelaic acid serum, clarifying that while non-prescription 10% formulas offer accessible redness soothing and tone improvement, they lack drug approval and cannot substitute for 15% to 20% prescription therapies in diagnosed inflammatory conditions. Evidence-Based Spot Correction and Sun Protection (8:24) Addressing hyperpigmentation and melasma, Dr. Dray emphasizes Thiamidol (isobutylamido thiazolyl resorcinol), a patented tyrosinase inhibitor formulated in Eucerin's Radiant Tone line. While clinical literature demonstrates its efficacy in fading dark spots, she cautions that the Radiant Tone Dual Serum contains a heavy fragrance that sensitive users may not tolerate. As a clinical workaround, she advises using the fragrance-free Radiant Tone Eye Cream as an all-over facial spot treatment instead. For daily UV protection and photoaging, she highlights the Neutrogena Collagen Bank SPF 30 Moisturizer. While noting that topical collagen peptides cannot replace structural dermal collagen, she emphasizes that this product contains a patented micropeptide supported by human clinical trials showing reductions in wrinkles and skin sagging. The formula leaves no white cast, does not sting around the eyes, and serves as a reliable option for individuals seeking niacinamide-free formulations. Barrier Repair and Non-Abrasive Hydration (0:30) For compromised or reactive skin, Dr. Dray advises prioritizing formulations that reduce transepidermal water loss without inducing stinging. The Aveeno Eczema Therapy Nighttime Itch Relief Balm relies on colloidal oatmeal containing anti-inflammatory avenanthramides to interrupt the itch-scratch cycle. Its rich, low-free-water base provides occlusive protection without the burning sensation often triggered by high-water lotions on broken barriers. To smooth sensitive skin without barrier disruption, she points to the Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner. The formula utilizes Hatching EX-07 enzyme technology to loosen surface keratin without forcefully dissolving intercellular bonds like conventional chemical exfoliants. For intensive event hydration, she recommends the BIODANCE Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask, which cures into a breathable overnight occlusive film to plump the skin, though she warns that its rose water content presents a contact allergy risk for fragrance-sensitive individuals. Photobiomodulation and Targeted Hair Maintenance (12:42) In hair care, Dr. Dray distinguishes substantiated clinical technology from ineffective beauty gadgets by supporting low-level laser light therapy (LLLT) via the iRESTORE Elite helmet. Operating through photobiomodulation, the device reduces scalp inflammation, stimulates cellular metabolism in miniaturized follicles, and enhances microcirculation. However, she emphasizes that users must obtain a professional medical diagnosis before purchasing, as the device is suited only for mild-to-moderate androgenetic alopecia and early telogen effluvium, not advanced baldness. Furthermore, because LLLT is a chronic management tool rather than a permanent cure, gains disappear if the 12-minute daily regimen is discontinued. For everyday maintenance, she highlights the durable plastic bristle design of the Tangle Teezer for detangling dense, fine hair without breakage. She also recommends the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine regimen, but notes that styling treatments like Diamond Sleek require heat activation via blow-dryers or flat irons to lock out humidity, advising consumers who air-dry their hair to skip the product entirely. Dr. Dray emphasizes that product cost and hardware gimmicks do not equate to clinical efficacy. Consumers should base purchases on validated mechanisms, maintain realistic expectations regarding cosmetic versus medical treatments, and account for strict compliance requirements and personal ingredient intolerances.
Original transcript
[0:00] Well, hey guys, get excited. It's that [0:02] time of the year already. It is October. [0:05] Amazon Prime big deal dates. It is here. [0:08] It's going to be running today, October [0:10] 6th, 2026 through October 7th. 48 hours [0:14] mega savings, including on skincare, [0:17] beauty, hair care. In today's video, as [0:20] per usual, I'm going to be sharing with [0:21] you all some of my top recommended [0:24] skincare and hair care beauty type [0:26] products that I routinely not only [0:28] recommend, but that I buy myself. [0:31] Starting with number one, it's going to [0:32] be the Aino Eczema Therapy Nighttime [0:35] Itch Relief Balm. This is a colloidal [0:37] oatmeal skin protectant. In contrast to [0:40] other skin protectants like petroleum [0:42] jelly, for example, or glycerin, [0:44] colloidal oatmeal has a few unique [0:46] assets that it brings to the lineup. Not [0:48] only does it reduce transepidermal water [0:50] loss substantially facilitating barrier [0:53] recovery, but it contains [0:54] anti-inflammatory aanthemides which calm [0:58] down inflammation. It also contains [1:00] hctants which are great for helping to [1:03] improve moisture retention in the skin [1:05] above and beyond simply locking the [1:07] hydration in place which by itself [1:09] serves to optimize skin hydration. And [1:12] the last advantage that you don't want [1:14] to sleep on when it comes to this [1:16] product is the colloidal oat has [1:17] anti-itchch properties. If you're [1:19] dealing with an impaired skin barrier, [1:21] an eczema flare up, chances are you have [1:24] symptoms. Stinging, burning, redness, [1:27] flaking, sensitivity, and or itch. And [1:30] itch can create a vicious cycle on your [1:33] skin barrier because you inevitably [1:35] scratch. It's just a natural response [1:37] that further impairs the barrier and [1:39] revs up even more inflammation. And so [1:41] this is fantastic. Products like this [1:43] that are very thick, very rich, and of [1:45] low water content tend to be less likely [1:48] to burn and sting on impaired skin. Next [1:51] up is um kind of a fun product I like to [1:55] use for just relaxation purposes and it [1:57] genuinely for me at least delivers a [2:00] bang for its buck. It's just a bit of an [2:02] investment as far as my time and so I [2:04] don't do it all the all of the time. But [2:06] you'll recall a few years ago I reviewed [2:08] the Biodance Biocolen Real Deep Mask. [2:12] This is interesting and this is one of [2:14] the first ones like this that I tried [2:16] out and became familiar with. Well, it [2:18] is a typical hydrating, soothing, [2:20] anti-inflammatory [2:21] serum. We'll say fluid skin care [2:24] product, but this is soaked into this [2:27] interesting mask. And what's interesting [2:29] about these masks is that they go on [2:31] like a hydrating jelly, but then as [2:33] they're exposed to air over a couple of [2:35] hours, they form this film on the skin [2:39] surface that's adherent. At first, I was [2:41] very skeptical that these would cause [2:43] too much irritation for me. Now, of [2:45] course, that still is possible with any [2:47] number of you out there watching this. [2:49] Found that not only stayed in place [2:51] really well, allowed me to sleep through [2:53] the night, it was pretty lightweight and [2:55] breathable. I didn't get overheated. [2:57] I've worn this, tried it out, used it in [2:59] the hot humid really well. Also has [3:01] algaen, biffida ferment filtrate, [3:03] collagen extract. No scent as far as a [3:07] strong fragrance, but it does have rose [3:09] water, which can crossreact with [3:11] fragrance allergies. It also has [3:13] nioinamide. I know some of you are [3:14] sensitive to that, but it does help with [3:16] the barrier, with redness, with [3:18] irritation, and y'all know I love it. [3:20] When I do these, the main limiting step [3:22] for me is it does take a bit of time for [3:24] it to dry down. And so it's just kind of [3:26] something that I have to plan to do um [3:28] in my nighttime routine. And I sort of [3:30] only do these on special occasions, but [3:33] the following morning, the skin for me [3:35] is hydrated, plump, and I have a nice [3:38] calm, glowy look. This is perfect to do [3:41] the night before you have some sort of [3:43] big in-person event. You're going to [3:45] maybe have a photo shoot or go to some [3:47] kind of event where you just want your [3:48] skin looking like you just got some [3:50] expensive facial. Different gel. [3:52] Adapylene. Adapylene is an FDA approved [3:55] retinoid for the treatment of acne. But [3:58] like tininoan, like tazeritine, there's [4:00] evidence that it can improve collagen, [4:02] diminish wrinkles, and improve the [4:04] visible signs of sun damage, including [4:06] the appearance of age spots like on the [4:08] backs of the hands, for example. The [4:10] reason I think this is underrated is [4:12] because in contrast to retinol or [4:14] retinaldahhide which likewise can [4:16] achieve all of those things. Adapylene [4:19] offers a few advantages in that you are [4:21] not at the mercy of the brand to have [4:23] formulated it correctly or to have [4:25] formulated it free of things that you [4:27] don't like or get along with. Like you [4:29] know some of you don't get along with [4:30] nioinamide. They're going to be a lot of [4:32] retinol retinaldahhide products that the [4:34] brand decides oh this is a popular [4:35] ingredient. It's helpful here. Let's add [4:37] it in. And so you got to spend a lot of [4:39] time. In other words, adapylene is a bit [4:42] of a what you see is what you get. Of [4:44] all of the medications in the retinoid [4:47] class that you apply to the skin that [4:49] are used for the purposes of treating [4:51] skin disease, so non-cossmetics, this is [4:54] far and away the easiest to tolerate and [4:56] the one that is least likely to cause [4:58] you dryness or irritation. That being [5:00] said, um while I personally started with [5:03] this years ago, was the first retinoid I [5:05] ever used, got along really well with [5:07] it. saw amazing results. I still to this [5:09] day do not tolerate this or any other uh [5:13] uh topical medication in the retinoid [5:15] class non-cossmetic on my neck on my [5:18] chest. So I often experiment with other [5:22] forms of cosmetic vitamin A which again [5:24] can take some time to work but they do [5:26] work. You just have to try them out and [5:29] kind of see for yourself. Okay. There's [5:31] less predictability there as far as yeah [5:33] this is a good formula objectively. you [5:36] kind of have to test things out. So, [5:37] Anua is a brand that um y'all know I [5:40] really like a lot of their products and [5:43] I tried out their collagen retinol [5:45] refining gouacha cream earlier this year [5:48] and I have since come to really like it [5:50] and strongly recommend it. Now, ignore [5:52] the gouacha thing, okay? They got to [5:54] rope people in and set themselves apart [5:55] from everyone else. I don't think [5:58] gouacha does anything. If you enjoy it, [6:01] if you find it to be helpful for [6:03] whatever it is you're doing it for, by [6:05] all means, it's not harmful. It may [6:07] reduce puffiness temporarily, but it's [6:09] not going to sculpt your face or change [6:12] the trajectory of the downward descent [6:15] with facial aging. It's just not. But [6:17] this product, you know, ignore the the [6:19] the head part of things. Um, this is a [6:22] retinol that is formulated for the neck. [6:24] And not only does it have retinol, but [6:26] it does have nioinamide. Okay? again. [6:28] So, if you're sensitive, this is not [6:30] going to be one for you. It has [6:31] collagen, which is very hydrating, [6:33] panthanol, macadamia seed oil, and [6:35] adenosine. I have been so impressed with [6:37] this formula. It actually reminds me of [6:39] the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair uh [6:41] retinol fragrance-free that I also [6:44] frequently recommend. This is a great [6:45] product. I recommended it in my uh best [6:47] of 2026 retinols video where I shared [6:50] with you guys a few retinols and [6:51] retinaldahhides. This was one. Speaking [6:53] of Anua, you guys know I've been [6:55] recommending for years now. their [6:56] azelleic acid 10 serum with azelleic [6:59] acid nioinamide. It's very hydrating. [7:02] It's very soothing. Azelleic acid in a [7:04] cosmetic non-medication can improve the [7:07] appearance of skin tone and it can [7:09] soothe the skin in contrast to 15 and [7:12] 20% the 10% strength. They're meant for [7:15] cosmetic use. They're meant to improve [7:17] the appearance of the skin. That's what [7:19] they can claim. They cannot claim to [7:21] treat any disease. Why? Because they're [7:24] not FDA approved to make that claim. And [7:26] B, because no one's ever looked to see [7:28] if 10% can treat diseases for which we [7:32] know 15 and 20% in the medicated [7:34] strengths can. I'm not saying it won't [7:36] be helpful. It's contraindicated. What I [7:39] am saying is that if you use the [7:41] prescription or you know you live in a [7:43] country where it's over- theounter, [7:44] okay, the medicated strengths 15%, 20%, [7:48] well then um I don't I I don't want you [7:51] guys to think that you can replace your [7:53] medication with a cosmetic to treat the [7:56] same skin disease, okay? Cuz that's not [7:58] how it works. But if you're just looking [7:59] to incorporate this ingredient, you [8:01] you're not looking to have a [8:02] prescription, none of that. you just [8:04] want to try it out, see, you know, if [8:06] you get a little improvement, this is a [8:07] good product to to to experiment with [8:10] for sure. Okay, speaking of skin tone, [8:13] this is one that I was like, should I [8:14] point this out because I personally most [8:17] of these things I buy and use myself, [8:19] but this is one that I really don't. [8:21] It's an option here and that is let's [8:23] talk about the main ingredient, okay, [8:25] before I get into it. Thamadol. What the [8:26] heck is that? It's a tyrosinase [8:28] inhibitor. I covered it in my video on [8:31] the different resourcenol derivatives. [8:34] Okay, this is a resourceol derivative. [8:36] It can inhibit tyrosinase. It is a [8:38] cosmetic ingredient and it shows a lot [8:40] of promise for dark spot. Beersf is the [8:42] one that does thamol. All right, [8:45] speaking of which, this product, the [8:46] eucin radiant tone dual serum dark spot [8:49] corrector has thamol. Why do I not use [8:52] this? I don't use it because it has a [8:55] very strong off-putting fragrance. I [8:58] know a lot of you guys use thyamadol and [9:00] you don't have any issue with a [9:02] fragrance in this. So, I wanted to point [9:03] out that it is on sale. Now, if you're [9:05] like me, you don't like strong [9:06] fragrances, but maybe you've got [9:08] unwanted pigmentation and you're looking [9:10] to um target that tyrosinace, what [9:14] options are there that are [9:15] fragrance-free? Get their eye cream [9:17] because it's fragrance-free. You don't [9:19] need a ton of this product to treat the [9:21] skin effectively with it. I got to give [9:23] a shout out for the tangle teaser. I I [9:25] said I frequently buy these things on [9:27] Amazon, but this I bought on Amazon and [9:30] have not needed to repurchase. It is [9:32] that good. This is a hairbrush that [9:34] first of all uh doesn't get disgusting [9:36] with lint. Is very easy to clean. I have [9:39] fine hair, but I have a lot of hair and [9:42] this does not uh give me any problems. [9:44] Doesn't give me frizz. I absolutely [9:46] adore it and I highly highly recommend [9:48] it. It's good for detangling the hair. [9:51] Neutrogena often has a variety of [9:53] products on sale. And you'll recall um a [9:55] couple of years ago I discovered their [9:57] collagen bank SPF 30 moisturizer remains [10:00] one of my all-time favorites. People get [10:02] hung up on collagen peptides and things. [10:05] No, they're not going to replace [10:06] collagen, but they're very moisturizing, [10:08] but they have this micropeptide and they [10:11] actually have some research, albeit it's [10:13] industry, okay? Human volunteers, not [10:15] just cells in a dish, okay? Speculating. [10:18] human volunteers showing objectively a [10:20] reduction in wrinkles and this uh you [10:23] know usually reduction in wrinkles alone [10:25] it's like is that really that ingredient [10:27] but this also showed a reduction in [10:30] sagging now I can't explain that but it [10:33] is pretty pretty impressive when you [10:34] actually look at the photos in the paper [10:36] but it is it is compelling and I [10:39] genuinely find this formula to be not [10:41] only no white cast super comfortable to [10:42] wear no burning or stinging around the [10:44] eyes I really like the way my skin looks [10:46] when I wear it and I want to point this [10:48] out about Neutrogena too. For those of [10:50] you who aren't aware, if you are a [10:51] nycinomide sensitive person, you don't [10:54] tolerate it, you are desperately seeking [10:56] nycinomide free, look to Neutrogena. [10:58] Nine times out of 10, they will not have [11:01] nyioinomide in their products. For those [11:03] of you who are looking to support [11:05] hydration, calm the skin, you like a [11:08] water-based toner. Um, I like to use [11:11] these actually as the first step in my [11:13] skincare routine after cleansing to just [11:15] kind of prepare the skin for moisturizer [11:18] at night or for serum. Do you need to do [11:20] this step? No. But the reason I like it [11:23] is oftent times these water-based toners [11:25] have soothing anti-inflammatory [11:27] ingredients. It feels like the skin is a [11:30] lot happier if it is prepped with one of [11:33] these. Often times, especially if you're [11:35] dealing with a lot of dryness and [11:36] irritation. So, I experiment with these [11:38] liquid toners. I love Korean skincare [11:41] for this reason. They offer many great [11:43] options. I finally tried Round Lab's [11:45] 1025 Doto line and their toner. I really [11:49] enjoyed this. It's not I mean, there's [11:51] really not much um exciting to say about [11:53] it. You know, it has this hatching X07 [11:56] technology, which is kind of interesting [11:59] because in theory, it's going to help [12:00] loosen the dead, clumped up skin cells, [12:03] the surface of the stratum corneium to [12:05] help hydrate and smooth out the surface [12:08] of the skin without getting in there and [12:10] dissolving the bonds necessarily between [12:12] dead stuck together skin cells and [12:14] potentially being, you know, irritating [12:15] for sensitive skin. I think this is a [12:17] great option for those of you who are [12:19] looking to soothe the skin. you may be [12:20] dealing with heightened sensitivity, [12:22] antioxidants, polysaccharides from the [12:25] red algae extract in this. So really, [12:28] really have liked that. Another one that [12:30] I don't actually reby because I don't [12:32] need to. It's a oneanddone thing. That's [12:34] going to be the Iris Restore Elite. I [12:35] restore Elite is an atome very powerful [12:38] LED device for the purposes of hair [12:41] restoration working through a mechanism [12:42] known as photobiomodulation. [12:44] If you're like, "Yeah, right. That [12:46] doesn't work." It does. Okay, listen. [12:48] There are so many um farty devices that [12:51] come out all the time gyating stuff. I [12:54] don't recommend 99% of devices out [12:56] there. This works, okay? The technology [12:59] works. It's evidence-based. New studies [13:01] come out all the time supporting the use [13:04] of low-level laser therapy for hair [13:06] restoration, not just for androgenetic [13:08] alopecia, but we've got evidence for [13:10] tiloggen oflovium for getting the hair [13:11] back a little faster. And we have [13:13] evidence for frontal fibrosin alopecia. [13:16] So it's a really really good um [13:18] technology to use if you are someone who [13:21] is dealing with thinning hair [13:23] androgenetic alopecia. It works by a [13:25] couple of mechanisms. It reduces [13:27] inflammation. It also helps to sort of [13:30] energize jumpstart the metabolism of [13:33] those hair follicle cells that have [13:35] fallen asleep and as a result you have a [13:38] miniaturized hair. So it can get them [13:39] back on track. So you actually get the [13:41] hairs to go back into the growing phase. [13:43] It's beautiful and it also improves [13:46] circulation to the follicle so you get [13:48] better delivery of growth factors and [13:50] micronutrients. Now, this is not going [13:52] to regrow your hair in total and it [13:55] works best for people whose hair loss is [13:58] sort of mild, moderate, and in the early [14:00] stages. If you have very severe um [14:03] widespread balding, this is unlikely to [14:06] move the dial. But what I also like [14:08] about it is that it can be used as a [14:10] standalone intervention, but it can also [14:12] be used in conjunction with other hair [14:14] loss treatments like minoxidil. First [14:16] and foremost though, the most important [14:17] thing if you're going to pursue [14:19] something like this is a you got to know [14:21] what you're treating. Okay? Nine times [14:23] out of 10 people just say hair loss and [14:25] they have no clue. They have no clue [14:27] what type of hair loss. There are many [14:28] types of hair loss out there. A bunch of [14:31] them will not budge with low-level laser [14:33] therapy. So don't invest in something [14:35] like this not knowing the diagnosis. [14:38] Okay. Shows the most evidence for [14:39] androgenetic alopeescia but um it can [14:42] help some other things as well. The [14:43] other must know and and must accept is [14:47] you have to stay consistent with this. [14:49] It's not a cure. Um you've got to keep [14:51] doing it in order to maintain the [14:52] results. Now I love it because it's just [14:54] 12 minutes a day hands-free. You can [14:57] multitask while you're doing it. And so [14:59] it's it becomes habitual. If you're [15:01] someone who cannot keep up with devices, [15:04] you don't think that you're going to [15:05] stick with it, don't invest in the [15:06] device, but it's it's um it's an [15:08] investment. Okay, this is probably the [15:10] most expensive thing I recommend and [15:13] it's an investment. Okay, so don't buy [15:16] it if you're not going to use it. Last [15:17] but not least is a holy grail for my [15:20] strands. Okay, gone through many, many [15:23] bottles at this point and I love it. [15:25] Garnier Sleek and Shine shampoo and [15:28] their conditioner. Um, the other thing I [15:30] was thinking about, but I'm not sure if [15:31] it's going to be on sale. If it is, add [15:34] to cart. Okay? If you have hair, long [15:36] hair, and you do any kind of heat [15:38] styling, you blow dry, you use a flat [15:40] iron, get yourself, as a matter of fact, [15:42] it's it's very inexpensive. Just go [15:44] ahead and add it to cart. It's like [15:45] under $8. The Garnier Fruise Diamond [15:48] Sleek, that is amazing. Imparts shine, [15:51] frizz control, anti-humidity. If you [15:53] live in a hot humid climate, you always [15:55] get the frizzies. This This is good. If [15:57] you don't heat style your hair, don't [15:59] bother with that because it's activated [16:00] by heat and it really does impart nice [16:02] shine as well as manageability. All [16:04] right, y'all. Those are my [16:05] recommendations for this year's Prime [16:07] Big deal days. I hope you guys enjoyed [16:09] today's video. If so, give it a thumbs [16:11] up, share it with your friends, and as [16:12] always, don't forget sunscreen and [16:14] subscribe. I'll talk to you guys [16:15] tomorrow. Bye.
